Language of the Silte people

The native language of the Silte nation is Siltigna and belongs to the Semitic language family. The language is similar to Arabic, Gurgaon, Harari, languages. In addition to their mother tongue, the members of the ethnic group speak Amharic in the urban areas, as well as the languages ​​of Hadi, Marek, Guragh, Orom and Halab as a secondary language. Other neighboring ethnic groups also use the Celtic language for communication depending on their proximity.

Although Siltigna was a written language using the Arabic alphabet 60 years ago, since 1967 various proclamations and textbooks have been translated into the language using the Saba alphabet. Since 1987, textbooks for the first cycle of the first cycle have been prepared in the language. It is currently serving as the language of education. Similarly, the fact that textbooks, Siltian dictionaries, the history of the people of Silt and other books are being written in the language and providing services using the Saba alphabet are facts that show that the language is developing.
