
The Silteh Zone Administration Cabinet has discussed and approved a special implementation plan prepared by a group of stakeholders and covering the main socio-economic issues to be implemented in the zone over the next ten years.
The Silte Zone Chief Administrator, Ato Zeine Bilka, who led the forum, said that Silte Zone has recorded encouraging results in all areas of development in the past 24 years since its establishment as a zone.
Ato Zeine, who explained that changes have been recorded in agriculture, education, health, roads, clean drinking water supply, and other social and economic areas that have benefited the people, pointed out that there is still much work to be done in terms of the needs of our people and the available development options.
Ato Zeine stated that it is necessary to move beyond the conventional view to ensure the prosperity of the zone by continuing the development and transformation activities that have been initiated in all fields.
The Chief Administrator noted that for this purpose, a special plan that is aligned with national and regional plans and that suits the zone's capabilities has been formulated and implemented.
Ato Zeine explained that the special plan provides an opportunity for the government to implement a wide range of activities in all areas of the zone, such as rural-urban corridors, improving the quality of education, promoting valuable assets, improving community health, agricultural mechanization, cultural and tourism development, road development, and clean water supply, with greater scope and initiative.
The Head of the Silte Zone Planning Department, Ato Bedru Surur, said that the special implementation plan will comprehensively involve the people of the zone and enable them to play a constructive role in the prosperity of the country.
Ato Bedru stated that the Silte Zone Planning Department is carrying out many activities in the process of implementing the plan, adding that strict monitoring and control will be carried out as a department for the success of the plan.
At the forum, Ato Mohammed Kemal, Director of the Silte Zone Planning and Development Department's Planning Directorate and Chairman of the Technical Team, presented the ten-year special plan prepared by the Asabiyan team and discussed at every level, which was discussed in depth by the zone cabinet members.
It was also stated that the proposed special plan document identifies the general existing conditions of the zone, key development opportunities, potential challenges, and solutions.
